NCCID Projects
Prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections
Human immunodeficiency virus and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) continue to be major public health problems in Canada. To help combat these, NCCID has an HIV/STBBI prevention initiative focused on improving outreach to vulnerable populations, and advancing strategic approaches for designing and implementing prevention programs. See also our Partner Notification Project.
Guide for Planning Outreach to Vulnerable Populations
The Outreach Planning Guide focuses on the challenges of planning and managing an outreach program to help deliver information, services and referrals to populations that practitioners often have difficulty reaching, especially those vulnerable to HIV and other sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBI). The Guide offers a model for outreach, which involves assessing the population, designing and implementing an outreach program and measuring the results.
Reducing the burden of Community-Acquired Antimicrobial resistant organisms
With the assistance of an expert advisory group, NCCID is working on a number of projects to help reduce the burden of community-acquired antimicrobial resistance.
