ICID and PHAC renew commitment to NCCID
National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases will continue keeping Canadian public health practitioners up to date on infectious disease research and knowledge for at least another five years thanks to a $7.5 million funding agreement between International Centre for Infectious Diseases (ICID) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
“NCCID will continue to inform public health practitioners, policy makers and community-based organizations about the latest developments in infectious disease, as well as facilitate and build knowledge exchange networks between these groups and academics and researchers,” says Dr. Margaret Fast, NCCID scientific director. “Our work ultimately informs public policy and better equips public health practitioners in their role of preventing and controlling emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. We are grateful for the renewed commitment from the Public Health Agency of Canada.” READ MORE.

Our primary functions are:

- Identification of knowledge gaps in research and practice
- Network development among the NCCs and other existing networks and organizations to support the use of evidence in decision –making and the various governance structures for public health.
